Author Mike Nelson
After writing a fiction/crime novel trilogy under the pen name Michael Deeze, the retired Dr. Mike Nelson has turned to young adult fantasy as his writing career has continued. He is a natural storyteller, both in life and in print. A physician, veteran, son and father, he cleverly writes from experience, imagination and his heart.
Named one of the “25 Hottest Indie Authors of 2018” by Indie Authors Magazine, as his daughter Isabelle went through her senior year of college he joined with her to co-write, “Annie Abbott and the Druid Stones,” which was released in May 2022 and launched a new series.
Passionate about his writing, he moved right into “Annie Abbott and the Race to the Red Queen” with Isabelle for the next installment (Sep. 2023).
Previously, his adventures had been intertwined into the tales of the hapless Emmett Casey.
In “Bless Me Father,” “For I Have Sinned,” and “The Heretic,” Michael Deeze wove the history of an ill-fated child’s transition from a lonely, inner-city rebel, decorated war veteran and into a man who looks all too familiar to him, a man like his father—all earned the hard way.
After spending decades living near the forests of rural Wisconsin, Dr. Mike was based just over an hour northwest of Chicago. These days he’s back in the Badger State, where he resides approximately one hour southwest of Madison, Wisconsin. He’s a devoted father to his three children – the aforementioned Isabelle, plus two grown sons.
